ABOUT THIS EVENT

This introductory course has been specifically created for those who want to explore the power of storytelling and nature as a tool for self-discovery, spiritual inquiry and connection.

Embodied presence, deep and wide listening and intuitive navigation — all foundational tools in the practice of Restorative Storytelling™ — become the portal to a sacred communion with the natural world.

From this deeply connected space grounded in open hearted, moment-to-moment, non-judgmental awareness we make room for emergent stories that shimmer with awe and wonder.

What you will learn in this course

Over the course of our time together, we will take a deep dive into the following practises:

Find embodied presence - Cultivate the ability to enter a state of calm presence whenever you choose. Explore strategies to shift from reactive patterns to a more heart-centred, grounded state, using the body as a tool to restore balance. Become aware of your energy in the space.

Creating a container - The outdoors, as expansive as it is, is a place of contained magic. We learn to work within a story container and an energetic container.

Deep listening and open response - Discover information or content that might help the story to better serve the listener.  Respond with presence rather than from a prepared, static plan. Let yourself become invisible; move into a space of emergent—unexpected and inspired, intuitive and spontaneous storytelling.

Empathic storytelling - Empathy in storytelling allows for a deeper exploration of complex emotions and themes, bringing richness to our narratives. Nature teaches us how to delve into inner experiences authentically, moving beyond surface-level plot lines with grace and confidence.

Story foraging - Stories are hiding everywhere, especially in the natural world. Find your Golden Thread -  the right story for a given situation or intention.

Attendees will have the opportunity to craft and practise their own stories in a safe and supportive environment, gaining skills and confidence to use and adapt Restorative Storytelling™ in their life and workplace.

No previous storytelling experience required.

About Restorative Storytelling

Restorative Storytelling™ is a form of conscious, deeply intuitive communication developed by Master Storyteller David Sewell-McCann of Sparkle Stories and How to Story.

Unlike other forms of storytelling, Restorative Storytelling™ is a portal to self-discovery, creativity and connection, and is used in all around the world as a way to build, heal and strengthen communities. You can find out more at How to Story.
